Great Societies are organizations that span the globe and seek to control the future of the world. These organizations use sorcery to achieve their ends, but they also control governments, religions, economies, and cultures. They are vast conspiracies that pull on the secret strings which control the world and the future.

Notable among these societies are the Radiant Empire and Sethi’s Church. Others include the Cult of Nyborea, Babylon Foundation, and The Agency.

Most mortals do not know of the Great Societies and their Influence. The societies primarily act through the movements of their Orders and Chapters.

Orders

Orders are the larger organizing arms of secret societies. The seven Cross branches of Sethi’s Church are examples of Orders. Each other has a specific mission and goal to support the agenda of the whole society.

Chapters

Chapters are local secret organizations, built by gathering together those who have a knowledge of sorcery and the hidden world, or who are hungry to discover such secrets.

These chapters are largely independent of each other and of the greater societies. However to acquire more secrets and to gain protection from the greater societies, these chapters will often pledge themselves to one of the great societies.
