Leviant is a dark fantasy world that is the primary setting of the Seventh Cross and Old Empire series of games and stories.
The story of this world is generational epics that tell a tale of conflict between powerful secret societies and their masters that span centuries.
Because the structure of the timeline is so important to the world, the era and even precise year in which stories take place is critical to their context. The stories of immortals, great houses, heirlooms, and more weave their way through the centuries and through the details of many stories to create a complex web of narrative.
Ages of Man[edit]
There have been 5 major eras of human history.
- Prehistory – Mankind lived in peace under the watchful guardianship of the Leviant Beasts.
- Ivantine Age / First Age (0–474) – The appearance of the Eschaton Device and the discovery of Sorcery yielded new powers and the rise of human civilization. Humans gathered in the great city of Ivantis, ruled by a council of archons.
- Dark Age / Second Age (474–972) – The fall of Ivantis left the world in chaos as the remaining Midians ruled over human tribes and Calamities ran rampant.
- Imperial Age / Third Age (972–1631) – The emergence of the Radiant Empire consolidated human power once again and led to an extermination of most Midians.
- Church Age / Fourth Age (1631–Present) – The Church broke apart from the Empire and determined that Sorcery should be wiped out.

| 1868 | Tower of Ascension | Teodora Garidion confronts Soul Catcher Meron. |
| 1925 | The Bloody Band | The Bloody Band hunts down and destroys Divine Beast Firia |
| 1928 | Hunters of the Church | The Hand of the Herald confronts D'Janette the Wicked and kill her, preventing a revival of the Empire. |
| 1955 | Dark Magical Orchestra | Archeme Kalinka completes the Eschaton Clock, which is subsequently destroyed by Cosette the Black. |
