Cycle 617
Cycles
Each universe in this setting comprises a different "Cycle" that begins, plays out, then ends, with another cycle starting after. Each Cycle plays out differently than the last, with different Space Witches creating a different cosmos each time.
Space Witches
Deity-like manifestations of the Universe that shape the cosmos each Cycle. Each is given a designation, that acts as their ""job"" for their entire existence during the Cycle. The Space Witches currently around in this Cycle (617) are:
XIV - Balance: Goes around cleaning up what she deems as "excess" to keep the universe in check.
LXIV - Memory: Keeps detailed records of everything that happens in each Cycle. Lives in a library near the end of the cosmos that houses said records.
CLVII - Force: Keeps the universe moving along, forcing certain events to happen and stopping things that would hinder these events. Should not appear in Space Chase.
XCIX - Time: Sets the length of each Cycle, then knits a blanket until it ends. Very old lady. Should not appear in Space Chase.
CCX - Gravity: Keeps the universe together, both physically and metaphorically. Esfir Volkov transcends her human form to become this Space Witch during the events of Bullet to stop Ekolu from becoming a god. Should not appear in Space Chase.
Whimsy: The first Space Witch with no designation. Effectively chaos in the unvierse. Responsible for all of the life, planets, and most other things in the universe.
During the events of Space Chase, Whimsy makes a friend she meets into a Space Witch, though they don't "awaken" until a future game:
.0001 - Existence: Exists and can never die. Keeps the current Cycle from ever finishing, which is a huge problem for the rest of the Space Witches. Normally Space Witches are created by the Universe itself, though sometimes certain beings (like Esfir) can become a new one to fill a gap that the universe needs. This is extremely rare.
Ekolu Kapakahi (from Bullet) temporarily becomes a ""fake"" Space Witch with dominion over triangles before she is defeated and absorbed by Esfir.
