First Empress of the Radiant Empire

The most famous and revered of the empresses, Carmine was the direct descendent of the Radiant Goddess and Lord Enlu. A powerful, immortal, demigod sorceress, Carmine completed her father’s campaign of extermination of the Dark Many. She scoured the remnants of their influence from across the old world, and sent several expeditions to the new world and to secret places within the earth.

While destroying monsters, Carmine built great fortresses that would serve as strongholds for human civilization. These would also become the basis for the great castles that would later be built by Marjoli the Astronomer. She carved the world into nations and provinces, and appointed a hierarchical system of nobility to rule over these domains.

Alongside her in her conquest, Carmine’s seven children were also figures of legend. Each gifted with unique powers, they led her armies and have ascended into legend as the great heroes of myth.

After the empire was stable, Carmine appointed her most successful heir, Ursula the Iron Queen, to rule in her stead. She is said to have returned to Sheligath to rule in perpetuity alongside her mother, though she has never been heard from since.
